Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Tanviralias Khan, while appreciating the National Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine’s (NIRM) significant contribution to serve the suffering humanity

 Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Tanviralias Khan, while appreciating the National Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine’s (NIRM) significant contribution to serve the suffering humanity has said that such institutions were no less than a blessing.The Prime Minister expressed these views during his visit to the National Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine in Islamabad.”The NIRM has significantly contributed in the rehabilitation of people who suffered permanent disabilities as a result of natural disasters”, the PM said adding that the painful memories of 2005 deadly earthquake were still fresh in his heart and mind.The PM said that NIRM type institutions would also be established in Azad Kashmir.  Earlier, the PM was given a detailed briefing about the institution and the services it has been referring to serve humanity.The PM visited different sections of the rehabilitation center and inquired about the welfare of disabled men and women belonging to Azad Kashmir being looked after in the center for past several years. The PM also inquired about the medical and other facilities being provided to them at the center. After seeing the woeful plight disabled men and women the prime minister burst into tears. He said that it was quite unfortunate that the victims of such a great tragedy were forgotten. “Years after years have passed, several governments have changed since the clamity struck the region, millions of billions of aid has also ended, but victims are still lying helpless in the hospitals for 18 years”, the PM said. On this occasion, a young man complained to the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir about his dismissal from the government job, on which the Prime Minister took immediate action and issued instructions to restore the young man to his job. He said that a state-of-the-art institution on the pattern of the NIRM would be established in Azad Kashmir in which disabled people from all four provinces, including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, would be provided medical and Residential facilities. On the occasion the Prime Minister was accompanied by Government Ministers including Chaudhry Akmal Sargala, Chaudhry Maqbool Gujjar, Parliamentary Secretary Javed Butt and others.
