President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, while reiterating his commitment to serve the people,  has said that all available resources would be utilized to solve the problems being faced by the people of Azad Kashmir.Speaking at an Iftar dinner hosted in his honor by Mayor Municipal Corporation Mirpur Chaudhry Usman Ali Khalid, the president said that solving the problems of Mirpur was his first and foremost priority. He said that the issue of subfamilies and their resettlement would be resolved within a month.He said that remaining work on Rathoa Hariyam bridge will be completed soon and water supply problems in Mirpur city would be addressed on priority basis. Referring to several development projects initiated during his tenure as the prime minister of Azad Kashmir, Barrister Chaudhry said that he rid Lakeview city of the menace of encroachment and widened the roads within the city.He said that construction of the bus stand, vegetable market, Public Parks, and Library named after renowned Sufi poet Mian Muhammad Bakhsh have made the city more attractive and clean. He said that conducting local body elections in the region was one of the promises he had made while taking the oath of office. He said that after the peaceful conduct of the polls, power has been transferred to the grassroots level. He said that the local government system and the relevant government institutions would be made strengthened so that the process of construction and development in society could be accelerated. Stressing the need for effective and across-the-board accountability, the president said that sustainable development and progress was not possible without the elimination of corruption from the state.”In today’s democratic era, no society can prosper sans justice and fairness”, he said, adding that a transparent accountability process was imperative to root out corruption from society.He said that steps were being taken to eliminate corruption. “We all have to move forward together for the prosperity and development of the people of Azad Kashmir”, he added.The president also thanked the newly elected Mayor Chaudhry Usman Khalid for hosting a grand iftar dinner in his honour.On this occasion, Minister for Energy and Water Resources Chaudhry Arshad Hussain, Minister for Physical Planning and Housing Chaudhry Yasir Sultan, DG Mangala Dam Housing Authority Chaudhry Muhammad Mansha Naqshbandi, Chairman District Council Raja Naveed Akhtar Goga, Mayor Municipal Corporation Usman Ali Khalid, Deputy Mayor Muhammad Ramzan Chaghtai and others were present.
